We know that everyone has different needs and that's why Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South offers a comprehensive healthcare plan that provides coverage for hospitalization, pharmacy and other medical services. All coverage is offered to eligible full-time and part-time employees. Coverage is also available for eligible dependents at an additional cost.
To ease the financial burden of dental expenses, employees and their eligible dependents are eligible for two dental insurance plans — a managed care plan and an indemnity plan. Both plans are provided by Delta Dental with differing monthly premiums and benefits. Both plans are offered to eligible full-time and part-time employees.
Eligible full-time and part-time employees may purchase a coverage plan that provides reimbursement for vision care expenses, for themselves and eligible dependents. The plan allows you to pick a provider of choice, does not require pre-authorization, has no waiting period or exclusions, and provides reimbursement according to billed charges.
Cancer and Other Disease Insurance
This type of insurance helps offset severe financial hardship that can be caused by intensive and ongoing medical treatment. This is a supplemental insurance plan that offers coverage for the employee and family in the event of cancer or other specified illnesses. Benefits are paid directly to the covered person.
We provide all full-time employees with Basic Group Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance in the amount of the employee's base annual salary. Eligible part-time employees may also purchase coverage at a minimal monthly cost. Dependent and additional life insurance is also available for purchase.
Flexible Spending Accounts
We offer three types of non-interchangeable Flexible Spending Accounts — medical, dependent day care, and adoption. Federal law allows employees to deposit a portion of gross income into a spending account on a pre-tax basis, for a savings of 25 to 40 percent on federal, state, and FICA (Social Security) taxes. Federal law requires that monies set aside be used in the same year or be forfeited.
Short- and Long-Term Disability
Disability coverage protects an employee's ability to earn an income in the event of injury or illness. Short-term disability insurance provides an income while you are unable to perform your job. It can also bridge the gap until you are eligible for Social Security disability or group long-term disability benefits. Long-term disability insurance provides monthly financial protection should a disability continue beyond short-term coverage.
All employees who work at least 20 hours per week may elect to take advantage of several health and wellness benefits, including healthcare, dental, life, vision, short-term disability, and cancer insurance, as well as flexible spending accounts and paid days off.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
We provide EAP benefits at no cost to eligible employees, their spouses, and eligible dependents. Services include face-to-face counseling for marital and family relationships, stress management, alcohol and drug issues, work-related concerns, depression, and anxiety. Counselors are available 24/7 for a free evaluation, telephonic support, and a referral for up to 5 counseling sessions with mental health providers. Legal and financial consultations and referrals are also available.
Paid Days Off (PDO)
Time off is funded by money accrued while employees work regular hours. For example, a new employee accrues 8 percent of gross earnings up to 40 hours a week. PDO begins accruing on the first day of work, with days eligible for use during the pay period following 91 days of employment, for most job classes. This accrual pays for vacation, holidays, and sick days. An employee simply schedules time off with the supervisor and uses it as desired.
Tuition reimbursement is available after one year of employment for work or health care-related undergraduate or graduate study or national certifications. Full-time employees are eligible for up to up to $3,000/year.
Texas Health Huguley maintains an excellent retirement program for its eligible employees. The plan, called the Adventist Healthcare Retirement Plan (AHRP), provides for annual cash contributions of 2.6% of total pay to eligible employee accounts. Texas Health Huguley also matches at 50% the first 4% of funds that you voluntarily contribute to the plan. You may choose from over 30 different mutual funds for investing the money in your retirement account. The Plan’s vesting requirement is five years (1 year = 1000 paid hours) of vesting service. In addition to the AHRP, voluntary Tax Sheltered Annuity (TSA) programs are available, providing you with even more investment opportunities as you plan for retirement.

Annual Merit Raises
Working towards goals is empowering. All employees meet with their supervisors to discuss accomplishments achieved over the past year and create development plans for the upcoming year. Based on accomplishments relating to their job and to the Huguley Standards of Behavior, employees receive a merit increase to their base rate of pay.
