The Emergency Center of Excellence award is verified after an on-site assessment.

"Physician-nurse relationships are great, which translates into excellent patient care. Patients move through the ED efficiently with minimal waiting time."
According to Sterling Warren, RN, Director of the Emergency Department at Texas Health Huguley Hospital, "Our success is very dependent on the extremely talented, caring individuals that care for our patients, as well as the dedicated staff and administration that support our ED team. We appreciate the community's support in trusting us with their care."
Vice President of Patient Care Services Tammy Collier, RN, FACHE, adds, "being named a top-performing emergency department recognizes the efforts of our physicians, nurses, staff, and leadership team on behalf of our patients."
Emergency Excellence developed the award in response to the 2006 Institute of Medicine's call for emergency department improvement and to motivate emergency care providers to achieve a higher standard of quality.
